I was surrounded by Chinese traditional music growing up. While this is undoubtedly part of my identity today, but jazz spoke to me in a way I hadn’t heard before. While my lyrics literally tell my story, the music that accompanies them is what brings it to life. Jazz is about being in the moment, like these different complex elements interacting to create the music, I need my whole collection of feelings to make my music whole. It is through this complexity and this struggle that I find freedom.

There is beauty in sadness, for what is to know joy without also knowing sorrow? This is what I want my music to embody,and this is Pisces’s World.
